I'm a partner at FutureWorld, a 30-year old consulting company that helps clients understand, design and create their ideal futures. Our process has helped create new business opportunities for clients like Coke, Google, Airbus and Shell.
Some of my areas of expertise include emergent technology (AI, blockchain, Quantum, CRISPr), business model innovation, company culture and New World of Work. Across Africa, I've spoken at length on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the preparedness of the continent and was a TEDx speakerin 2011.
In my career, I've helped over 1,000 entrepreneurs, developed an online platform to create 50,000 websites (one every 10 minutes!), co-authored 2 books (including an Amazon #1 top seller) and the youngest graduation speaker at the University of Johannesburg.
I've started 4 companies:
Technology company to help partially sighted children maximize their remaining vision.
Commercialisation company for student science graduates and scenario and strategy planning.
Cleantech non-profit in Silicon Valley in 2011 when the field was still nascent.
Consulting company focussing on corporate culture, vision and leadership.
I hold dual Master's degrees in Engineering (Electrical and Usability, University of Witwatersrand) and Business (MBA, Babson College) and completing a PhD in Futures Thinking (University of Johannesburg). My research will help leaders seize the unknown and create the future(s) they want. I also hold certification in leadership (Said Business School, Oxford), sustainability (Cambridge) and counselling (University of Pretoria).
Unlike other experts who are talk and little action, I put philosophy into action: converted my car to electric and filed 2 patents. I left Google (and Google X) and rejected an opportunity to lead one of Richard Branson’s companies to create a global platform for tomorrow’s leaders.
I have been fortunate enough to gain some recognition during my career and have received a number of awards.
