I'm don't like to talk about achievements, awards or prior success. However, a wise mentor remarked that it's important to realise where you come from, and what you've achieved to see how much further you can still go. Fellow of the African Fellows Leadership Institute (AFLI), 2015Founded in 2004 with the support of Oxford University, AFLI is the continent’s premier leadership programme. Since the creation of its flagship programme – the Tutu Leadership Fellowship – which welcomes an elite group of leaders from across Africa and includes a strong focus on the values and ethics of leadership, more than 200 Tutu Fellows have been selected to complete the programme.

The featured winners are a result of a rigorous selection and demonstrate the best that Africa has to give. They are leaders, thinkers, doers and influencers that will shape our continent.

Mail and Guardian, 200 Young South Africans (2012)Every year, the Mail & Guardian profiles interesting young people who have stood out from the pack and who show us what to look forward to in the country’s future. These under-35s are talented and have shown themselves to be leaders. They are the ones to watch.

Graduation Speaker at University of Johannesburg and speaker at Bracken High(2106)Perhaps not as glamorous as the other awards listed here, but my most treasured. I was asked to be the graduation speaker at UJ Engineering, ten years after I completed my engineering undergrad and, then was asked to speak at the "honours evening" at my high school almost 20 years after I matriculated. Selected Entrepreneur to travel to Seattle (2016)20 top tech entrepreneurs from South Africa were hand-picked to visit Seattle and investigate first-hand the tech scene. The visit was sponsored by Investec to strengthen the South African tech system and create further linkages for global growth into the United States.
